Therapy Intensives in New York and New Jersey

A therapy intensive allows us to create a detailed program geared specifically towards your therapeutic needs, all in a weekend trip to NYC or virtually. Whether you’re an individual, couple, or family, we will create a detailed program geared specifically to meet your needs and goals, resulting in a truly transformative experience.

What It Is:

Intensives are great for anyone who is looking to do a deep dive into the work and transformative experience. You might be feeling a sense of urgency in your life to address certain things, or maybe you’re just keen on working with one of our therapists because you feel a connection with them but just don’t live close enough to do weekly work.

Who It’s For:

  • Adults with stable support systems and basic coping skills already in place

  • Busy professionals seeking rapid, lasting results without long-term therapy commitments

  • Those feeling stuck or plateaued in traditional weekly therapy approaches

  • People preparing for major life transitions who want to address trauma beforehand

  • Individuals with specific traumatic incidents that require focused processing

  • Those traveling from outside NYC who want to maximize their therapeutic investment

Therapy intensives can serve as a catalyst for overcoming stuck points, helping identify areas that may need additional support and deeper exploration. These intensives create opportunities for gaining deeper insight and engaging in emotional processing. While change is a gradual process, intensives offer the chance to gain clarity, build momentum, and develop a focused plan for ongoing therapeutic work.

This innovative format is changing how New Yorkers approach healing from trauma, offering hope for those who have felt stuck in traditional therapy models or simply don't have months to dedicate to weekly sessions.

The nature of life in New York City often makes traditional weekly therapy challenging to maintain. Between demanding work schedules, long commutes, and the general intensity of urban living, many people find it difficult to commit to months of consistent weekly appointments. Intensives addresses this reality while actually providing more effective treatment outcomes.

How We Do It

Why a Therapy Intensive works and accelerates healing

Traditional talk therapy asks you to think and talk your way through trauma. Integrative therapy takes a completely different approach. It works directly with how your brain and body stores memories. This method can create rapid, lasting changes that might take years to achieve through conventional therapy alone.

The key difference lies in involving the body. During an intensive, you'll follow guided eye movements and your sub-conscious mind while recalling difficult memories. This activates your brain's natural healing processes in a powerful way.

Memories and beliefs often get "stuck" in your emotional centers, triggering reactions whenever something reminds you of the original event or person. Through bilateral stimulation, expression, and meditation; these memories move through your brain and body’s processing system. Instead of remaining frozen in time with all their emotional charge, they become integrated into your normal memory networks, still part of your history, but no longer overwhelming you.

An intensive follows your mind and body’s associations so that it can rewire itself most effectively.

We start with history-taking and preparation, move through assessment and desensitization, then install positive beliefs, scan your body for any remaining tension, provide closure, and follow up to check your progress.

A proactive relationship assessment for couples who are functioning but want more clarity about the health of their relationship.

The Relationship Attunement helps couples understand their strengths, growth areas, communication patterns, and recommended next steps before small issues become big problems.

Liberating The Family Dynamic:

Your relationship to yourself is one of longest relationships that you’ll ever be in. It sets the foundation for every relationship. It can also become a block having a bigger and brighter life.

Liberating The Family Dynamic intensive helps individuals understanding where they are coming from so that they can choose where they are going.

Self Worth Issues:

Self worth issues that developed during traumatic experiences require careful, sustained work to identify and reprocess the negative beliefs about yourself that formed during those difficult times.

These beliefs: "I'm not good enough," "I'm not safe," or "I can't trust my own judgment", often formed during childhood or other vulnerable periods and continue to impact adult functioning. Intensives can identify these core beliefs and install more positive, realistic beliefs in their place.

Preparing for Your Intensive & What to Expect

Pre-Call Assessment Phase:

Everything begins with our complimentary Zoom consultation, where we get to know each other and explore whether an intensive format aligns with your needs and goals. During this conversation, we dive into your history and current symptoms to understand what you're experiencing right now. We also discuss your previous therapy experiences. What has felt helpful and what hasn't quite clicked for you.

Understanding your support system and coping resources is crucial because intensive work requires a solid foundation. We want to know who's in your corner and what strategies you already use to manage difficult emotions.

During this consultation, we also explore your goals for the intensive experience. What would you like to be different in your life? How do you want to feel when you wake up in the morning?

If we determine that an intensive feels right for you, we schedule a more comprehensive intake session. This deeper dive involves detailed history-taking where we map out any influential experiences that might benefit from intensive processing. We engage in target planning, identifying specific memories or themes that we'll focus on during your intensive.

During the Intensive:

The intensive experience itself unfolds with careful attention to both depth and safety. Each session includes eye movement sets, aspecting work, and/or meditation that help activate your mind and body’s natural processing mechanisms. These sets typically last 45 seconds, followed by brief check-ins where we explore what you're noticing or experiencing.

What makes intensive different from weekly sessions is the sustained attention we can give to processing. Instead of stopping just as you're getting into the deeper work, we have the time to follow the natural flow of your brain's healing process.

Strategic breaks for self-care are built into every session because intensive work requires pacing. Throughout the intensive, I'm constantly checking in with your emotional state and adjusting our approach as needed. Your safety and comfort are always the top priorities.

Each session ends with safe closure techniques that help you leave feeling stable and grounded. We never end an intensive session with you in a state of high emotional activation.

Integration & After Care:

The 72 hours following your intensive are often when the real magic happens. Your brain continues processing the work even after our sessions end, and many clients report continued insights and shifts during this integration period.

We schedule a booster session within 1-2 weeks to assess how you're integrating the work and address any questions or concerns that have come up. This follow-up isn't just a check-in—it's an opportunity to reinforce the positive changes and address any remaining areas that might need attention.
